Desk child safety standards
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Desk is for people aged 18 and over. These are our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), which apply to everyone on Desk.
What we prohibit
- Any content that sexualizes, exploits or endangers a child, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in photos, captions, notes, messages, names or profiles.
- Grooming, or any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sharing, requesting or linking to such content.
- Accounts belonging to people under 18.
How we prevent and find it
- Everyone confirms they're 18 or older when they create an account.
- Photos are public-addressed but not browsable by people who aren't signed in, and people choose who sees each Drop.
- A word filter refuses explicit text, and administrators review reports.
- Anyone can Report a person, and Block them, from the more menu in the app.
How we act
- We review child safety reports as a priority.
- We remove violating content and end the accounts involved.
- We report child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities, for example the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, or the equivalent body where the law applies.
- We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.
- If we find an account belonging to someone under 18, we remove it.
How to report
- In the app: open the more menu on a Drop, profile or session and choose Report.
- By email: hello@visitdesk.app with the subject "Child safety". This is our designated child safety contact.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Compliance
We follow the laws that apply to us on child safety and on reporting CSAM. See also our Community Guidelines, Terms and Privacy Policy.
