Desk terms of service
Effective: 15 October 2026
Last updated: 15 October 2026
1. Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Trevon Preudhomme, trading as Desk, of Trinidad and Tobago ("Desk", "we", "us"), covering the Desk website (visitdesk.app), web app and Android app (the "Service"). By creating an account or using Desk you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Community Guidelines. If you don't agree, don't use Desk.
2. Who can use Desk
- You must be at least 18 years old. When you create an account you confirm that you are.
- You must give accurate sign-up information, and you may have one personal account.
- We may refuse or end access where the law requires, or if you've broken these terms.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. Tell us at hello@visitdesk.app if you think someone else has accessed it. Your username forms your share link. You may not choose a username that impersonates someone, is misleading, or is reserved.
4. What Desk is, and what is visible
Desk lets you keep a personal Desk, post Drops, leave sticky notes, send gestures and Desk Mail, run focus sessions and add Neighbors. You control the audience of each Drop and session (Everyone, Mutual neighbors or Only me). Your profile, Discover listing and search appearance are visible to other signed-in Desk users, and photos are served from public web addresses. Don't post anything you aren't comfortable having others see or share. The Privacy Policy has the details.
5. Content you post
- You keep ownership of what you post ("your content").
- Licence to us. You give Desk a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display and transmit your content, only as needed to operate, secure and improve Desk and to show it to the audiences you choose. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups, caches and copies others have already received, which clear in the ordinary course. We don't use your content for advertising, to train AI models or for resale.
- You promise that you own or have the right to post your content, that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights, and that it follows these terms and the Community Guidelines.
- Other people's content belongs to them. Don't copy or reuse it without their permission.
6. What you may not do
You must not:
- Post or send content that is illegal, sexually explicit, exploits or endangers children, promotes violence or self-harm, harasses, threatens, stalks or demeans people, or is hateful or discriminatory.
- Impersonate others, mislead people about who you are, spam, or run fake or duplicate accounts.
- Share other people's private information, or photos of people without their consent where consent is required.
- Upload malware, probe or attack the Service, scrape it at scale, bypass blocks, suspensions or limits, or access data you aren't permitted to see.
- Use Desk to send unsolicited commercial messages, or sell, rent or transfer your account.
- Use the Service in a way that breaks the law.
The Community Guidelines explain these rules in plain language.
7. Moderation, reports and enforcement
We use automated checks (for example a word filter) and human review. You can report people and block people at any time. We may remove content, limit features, send warnings, and suspend or end accounts when we believe these terms or the Guidelines have been broken, when the law requires it, or to protect people. We try to be proportionate and to explain decisions where we can. We're not obliged to monitor all content and we don't guarantee that we'll find or remove everything.
If your account was suspended or content was removed and you think we got it wrong, email hello@visitdesk.app with your username and your reason. We'll review it and reply.
8. Ending your account
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account, or by following the steps at visitdesk.app/delete-account. The Privacy Policy and that page explain what is removed and what we keep.
- We may suspend or end your account for serious or repeated breaches, or to follow the law. Where reasonable we'll tell you why and how to appeal. Deleting your account doesn't erase the record of a suspension if we need to keep it for safety reasons.
- Sections that by their nature should survive (the licence for copies already shared, liability, disputes) continue after your account ends.
9. Notifications and messages
If you enable push notifications we'll send alerts about activity such as claps, notes, Desk Mail and session invites. You can turn them off in Settings or on your device. We may send service emails (sign-in links, confirmations, security and policy notices). We don't send marketing email.
10. Service availability and changes
Desk is an early-stage product. We may change, pause or end features, set limits, or take the Service offline, for example for maintenance or safety. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Drops and sessions are designed to be temporary; don't rely on Desk as your only copy of anything.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent the law allows, Desk is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't warrant that it will meet your needs or be secure or error-free, and we aren't responsible for what other users post or do. Desk and its operator aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us for Desk, which is currently nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
12. Intellectual property and feedback
Desk's name, logo, design and software belong to Desk or its licensors. You may not copy or reverse-engineer them except as the law permits. If you send us feedback you let us use it without obligation to you. To report copyright infringement, email hello@visitdesk.app with the subject "Copyright" and identify the work and where it appears.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and the courts of Trinidad and Tobago have jurisdiction over any dispute. This doesn't affect any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we'll give you notice in the app or by email at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using Desk after the change takes effect you accept the new terms. If you don't accept them, you can delete your account.
